Angles[]

GridAngles

Grid possibly has the best angle spread out of any character in the game, being able to force difficult catches and tap charge scenarios like crazy when combined with his special. His smash is one of the best for beginners, since the rotation can be very difficult to read if you don't know it. His up angle is great for forcing tap charges, his ground down is amazing if your opponent is looking to cover his up, is air down is similar to Candyman's down since it's very sharp. His spikes are incredible as well, with his back spike being great for keeping ball control, and his forward spike for forcing tap charges.

Coverage[]

Nothing's super difficult about covering Grid when he's in hit lag with out special. However, like Candyman, if he's able to get the ball away from you, or get a rotation in, then it's time to worry.

Tap Charge Scenarios[]

GridT2

GridT3

The first scenario is much like Raptor, Jet, Doombox, and Toxic's corner scenario. For the second scenario, the turn around happens at different positions based on stage, much like Raptor's ground down, so get familiar with the stage dimensions for covering Grid's spike. For the final scenario, that's just a basic example. Whenever Grid teleports on the ground, you're basically forced to tap unless you want to jump and risk him doing a different option of his special. Best thing to do is to hold your swing button and face the direction Grid releases the ball.

Special[]

Grid's special is incredibly diverse, and you can use it in a multitude of ways. First, let's cover the basics. You're able to teleport in 4 directions, up, down, left, right. Teleporting up releases it at his smash angle, and teleporting any other direction releases it straight. However, if you tap down after a direction, you'll release it straight down. On top of that, you're able to teleport twice if you so choose for even more mix ups.

Now since you're able to teleport twice, this makes Grid incredibly scary when he has meter. He can teleport once for a swingbait, twice to mix up your timing, he can teleport on top of you with a spike, teleport above you for his smash to go behind you, and even bunt out of special. Grid's special is only limited by a player's creativity, so it's up to you to make the most out of each special.

The Grid Install[]

The Grid Install is performed the same as a Pushbox, hold down and jump. This causes Grid to charge up, and the next ball he hits with a swing will be instantly released with the power increase of that of a Smash.
